1.3 Parent / Guardian Contact Information

We collect parent or guardian contact information (name, email, phone number) to facilitate communication between coaches and families, and to obtain consent for the collection of minor player data.

1.4 Payment Information

Payment transactions are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not directly collect or store credit card numbers, debit card numbers, or bank account information on our servers. Stripe's collection and use of your payment information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

1.5 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you access or use the Service, including:

  • Device information (browser type, operating system)
  • IP address
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Date and time of access
  • Referring URLs

1.6 Communications

We collect and store information related to communications sent through the Service, including SMS text messages sent via Twilio and in-app messages between coaches and parents.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Provide and maintain the Service: To operate the platform, manage teams, rosters, events, and facilitate communication between coaches and parents.
  • Process payments: To process subscription fees, merchandise orders, and other transactions through Stripe.
  • Send SMS notifications and reminders: To deliver event reminders, schedule changes, team announcements, and other time-sensitive information via Twilio.
  • Generate AI-powered insights: To provide analytics, player performance summaries, and other AI-generated recommendations using third-party AI models.
  • Improve the platform: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and develop new features and enhancements.
  • Communicate with you: To respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and send service-related notices.
  • Ensure safety and compliance: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and other harmful activities, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. COPPA Compliance (Children's Privacy)

GameSpeed AI takes the privacy of children seriously. Our platform is used by AAU basketball programs that involve minor players, typically between the ages of 7 and 18. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state laws regarding children's data.

3.1 Parental and Coach Consent

We collect player data about minors only with the consent of a parent, legal guardian, or authorized coach. Coaches who enter player data into the platform act as agents of the parents for data collection purposes, as is customary in organized youth sports programs. Parents are notified when their child is added to a team on the platform and are provided access to review and manage their child's information.

3.2 Children Under 13

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. Player data for children under 13 is entered by coaches or parents on their behalf. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

3.3 Parental Rights

Parents and legal guardians have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected about their child.
  • Request correction of any inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of their child's personal information.
  • Refuse to permit further collection or use of their child's information.

4. Data Sharing

4.1 We Do Not Sell Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or player data to third parties for their marketing purposes.

4.2 Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service:

  • Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe receives payment and billing information necessary to process transactions.
  • Twilio: SMS messaging. Twilio receives phone numbers and message content necessary to deliver text messages.
  • AI Providers: Third-party AI models receive data necessary to generate analytics and insights. Where possible, data is anonymized or aggregated before being sent to AI providers.
  • Supabase: Database hosting, authentication, and storage infrastructure.

4.3 Public Team Websites

If an organization enables a public team website, the following player information may be displayed publicly:

  • Player first and last name
  • Jersey number
  • Position
  • Height
  • School name
  • Graduation year
  • Game statistics

The following information is never displayed on public team websites:

  • GPA or academic records
  • Parent or guardian contact information
  • Home addresses
  • Phone numbers or email addresses

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in response to valid legal process such as a subpoena, court order, or government request. We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Row Level Security (RLS): Our database uses row-level security policies to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to view.
  • Encrypted connections: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols.
  • Access controls: Role-based permissions ensure that users can only access features and data appropriate to their role (Organization Owner, Coach, or Parent).
  • Secure authentication: User authentication is handled through secure, industry-standard protocols.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Active accounts: Data is retained while your account remains active and in use.
  • Account termination: Upon account termination or deletion request, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements).
  • Communication logs: SMS and messaging records may be retained for up to 90 days for service quality and compliance purposes.

By providing your phone number on the platform and opting in to notifications, you consent to receive SMS text messages from GameSpeed AI. Consent is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

10.2 Message Types

You may receive SMS messages related to:

  • Event reminders (games, practices, tournaments)
  • Schedule changes and cancellations
  • Team announcements
  • RSVP requests
  • Account verification and security notices

10.3 Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on team activity, event schedules, and your notification preferences. During active seasons, you may receive multiple messages per week.

10.4 Costs

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. GameSpeed AI is not responsible for any charges incurred from your carrier for receiving SMS messages.

10.5 Opt-Out

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS messages from GameSpeed AI. You can also manage your SMS preferences in your account settings.

10.7 Carrier Disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to effective transmission from your network and is not guaranteed.
